Finca La Alquería, located in the charming town of Volcancito, Boquete, is a boutique, family-owned and operated farm nestled in the slopes of the Baru volcano at 1,460 meters above sea level.
The Volcancito area provides optimal conditions for growing coffee, our beans are carefully grown and harvested ensuring a rich and flavorful cup of coffee.

Finca La Alquería takes pride in commiting to sustainable farming practices. We believe in treating the environment with respect and working with nature to produce high-quality coffee, which has led us to adopt a variety of agricultural practices, including apiculture, that help protect the natural habitat and the wildlife that shares our land.

Another practice applied in our farm is to minimize the chemical load applied to our coffee crops (through fertilization or fumigation), aiming for less than 1.75% of chemical products for foliar applications for every 200 Kgs. of material applied to the crops (not more than 3.5 kilos/200 kilos of diluted application).
Thanks to these agricultural practices, our farm yields high-quality specialty coffees, including pacamara, yellow bourbon, geisha, and SL-28 varietals.

We have a special commitment to the families that work in our farm; we understand that our success is only possible because of their hard work and dedication.

We believe that education is a fundamental right and a key driver of social mobility. We are committed to providing educational opportunities to the children of our farm workers, which we recognize as an investment in their future and that of our community. We take pride in this program, which reflects our values of sustainability, social responsibility and a commitment to excellence in all that we do.

THE PLANTATION

Located at an elevation of 1900+ meters and nestled deep in the mountains of Volcan, Finca Deborah is shrouded in dense cloud coverage for most of the year. The plantation is a beautiful, natural environment where rare species of plants and animals are abundant and where Geisha grows to its full potential under the protection of the lush rainforest canopy.

THE HARVEST

Carefully monitoring the harvesting is one of the most critical steps in a long list of quality control requirements. By hand picking only the ripest cherries and processing those cherries that meet our exacting standards, can we ensure that Finca Deborah Geisha is one of the world’s best Geisha coffees.

THE COFFEE

Finca Deborah’s mission is to cultivate, process, and deliver only the highest quality coffee available anywhere in the world.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Finca Deborah has the distinct privilege of working with some of the most talented and creative names in coffee. Our coffees have made notable progress in both national and world competition, with frequent podium finishes.
In 2016 Deborah washed Geisha was used to win the World Barista Championship in Dublin, Ireland, frequently showcased during prestigious events, and served in some of the world’s most distinguished restaurants by highly acclaimed chefs.

THE BACKBONE OF FINCA DEBORAH

The Nôbe-Buglé people are the primary workforce on the farm and are the backbone of Finca Deborah. We understand that our operation could not exist without their skill and expertise. We strive to ensure that their needs are met with an abundance of care and compassion.

SUSTAINABILITY

Traditional electric power is not available in the remote location that is home to Finca Deborah. So, we’ve had to improvise. Our beneficio, or processing center, is powered by our own robust solar system, which further preserves the integrity and sustainability of this unique environment. In addition, as a shade grown coffee plantation, Finca Deborah blends seamlessly with the mountain landscape, sustains the natural environment, and maintains a haven for the local bird and wildlife populations.

Flying Pumas

Flying Pumas is a specialty coffee project located in the mountains of Volcán, Chiriquí, Panama, between 1650 and 2200 meters above sea level. The farm spans 178 hectares, of which 60 hectares are planted with specialty coffee while the remaining land is preserved forest bordering the International La Amistad Park. At Flying Pumas, coffee is cultivated in dialogue with the landscape, respecting the natural conditions of the territory and allowing each lot to express its origin with precision and clarity.

ABOUT FLYING PUMAS
Flying Pumas is a project built around observation, precision, and respect for the environment. Inspired by the wild cats that inhabit these forests, pumas, jaguars, ocelots, and jaguarundis, the project seeks to work in balance with one of the most important ecosystems in Central America. Every decision, from cultivation to processing, begins with understanding how climate, altitude, volcanic soils, and biodiversity shape the final expression of the coffee.

COFFEE & TERROIR
Flying Pumas focuses primarily on Geisha and ET47 varieties, cultivated at high altitude on mineral-rich volcanic soils. Cool temperatures, thermal amplitude, constant mist, and the natural complexity of the landscape allow the development of coffees with elegance, transparency, and depth in the cup. Each lot reflects the unique characteristics of the territory where it was cultivated.

CULTIVATION PHILOSOPHY
At Flying Pumas, coffee cultivation is approached through continuous observation, precision agriculture, and responsible landscape management. Forest conservation, water protection, conscious soil management, and the use of biochar are integrated into an approach designed to strengthen the long-term health and resilience of the territory.

PROCESSING APPROACH
Our processing philosophy is centered on preserving clarity, structure, and varietal expression. Each lot is carefully harvested and processed to highlight the identity of the coffee and the natural characteristics of the terroir. Precision, cleanliness, and consistency are fundamental throughout every stage of the process.

LANDSCAPE & CONSERVATION
Flying Pumas is part of one of the most important biological corridors in Panama. The forests surrounding the farm play an essential role in water conservation, climate stability, and biodiversity protection throughout the region.

VISITING FLYING PUMAS
Flying Pumas welcomes roasters, green coffee buyers, and specialty coffee professionals interested in experiencing an origin where coffee, landscape, and conservation coexist naturally. Visitors can explore the high-altitude coffee fields, native forests, and production areas while discovering the philosophy behind Flying Pumas.
